General Discussion / Re: Estiah 2 dead

Unfortunately, E2 didn't draw the same crowd as the original   :(

The campaign is pretty fun though.  I would highly recommend spending a day or two going through it.

Technical Support / Reactive Auras might need looked at again

Shadow Thorn  is affected by modifiers, which can be kind of silly: http://www.estiah2.com/world/battle/replay/id/244149

I'm guessing all other reactive auras are also affected.

Technical Support / Booster refund more than the booster
« on: September 28, 2014, 04:50:19 am »
Considering the number of coins I spent to get this far, I'm not sure if this needs changed or not... but still weird seeing a refund for almost twice the original cost of the booster.

Suggestions / Charm Sort By Level
« on: September 21, 2014, 02:37:10 am »
Would it be possible to have "Sort By Level" in the gear builder screen put Altar to Pandamius charms (and future high level charms) at the top, instead of having them mixed in with the other level 40s?

Tweaks on the raid might have been too much.  I think the consensus is that the HP on Dread could go back up and it would be about right.

HA!  Whitemane Bears really charge now!  My Pack Alpha and his wolves really run around! This is great!

The movement indicator is also great!  It might need a darker outline though, or make the gradient a little stronger.

General Discussion / Re: Why is E2 so frustrating for me :/
« on: September 15, 2014, 07:35:03 am »
A big, huge difference between E1 and E2 is player agency during a fight.

In E1 you build a deck and watch it play out.  As soon as you hit Fight, all of your choices are already made and you sit back and watch it unfold.

In E2, you build your deck, and then get to actively choose what charm to play each turn.  You get to actively choose your target.  You get to actively move around the battlefield.  You are making choices through the entire fight.

If you are in a situation where you get stuck or are constantly losing a particular fight, I can see how E2 could be much more frustrating.  There is more going on, so there is more that could mess up.  Losing in E1 means you might need to rebalance your deck.  Losing in E2 could be caused by an improperly balanced deck or by any of the choices you now get to make during the fight.  When you're fighting Renzan in the burning forest, you will lose if you don't time your moves properly.  And if you're fighting the slimes in the canyon you had better choose your targets wisely.

I was helping another player with a fight in the great new Catacombs of Kemol dungeon, and he was having a hard time understanding why he was mostly losing but could somehow win once in awhile.  Then it clicked for him that for this particular fight timing was critical and he had to be careful when he played his charms.  He hasn't had a problem with it since.  It is this kind of experience that I can see being a trial for players, but I think that it also can add depth and be what makes E2 a great game.

It would be presumptuous of me to say that this is why you're frustrated, but hopefully it explains one of the underlying differences between E1 and E2.  I would love to hear further opinions on it as well as others experiences.

Also, I'd like to once again invite anyone and everyone to jump into the IRC channel if you are having trouble (or just want to hang out!).  There is almost always someone around to help out or hear you talk through a fight or just say Hi.  The link is at the top of this page, and works entirely in your browser (no additional software required).

I don't really know whats making it go berserk?  But it does seem to be lacking a win condition, so the fight will continue indefinitely.

Also, you probably haven't updated beta with any new charm stuff, but just in case:

Ritual Dagger is still broken on beta (as per Gunthar's thread here)

Hahahahahah, the essence gathering node is hilariously broken.  Replays are unavailable.  It might crash the server at some point.

Checkpoints 9, 5 and 10 (guardian, trash, boss) all fall pretty easy to summons.  Though to be fair I do use soulreaper level charms.

Checkpoints 3 and 4 do not fold to summons.  3 was interesting.  I didn't like 4 at first because it seemed like the first couple of charms were hiding something, but then I realized that it was actually pretty straightforward and just about timing. Good stuff, really.

Hopefully I'll get to try the raid tomorrow.

Are you sure you're talking about checkpoint 4?

It sounds like you're talking about the boss fight, checkpoint 8, when Lez and Nip trap you with Death Kite?
